Nicole has apparently been offered the role as Roxie in the Broadway musical “Chicago.”
Nicole is now considering the possibility of moving to New York, for a while, with boyfriend Joel Madden and their baby girl Harlow.
An insider tells Us Weekly magazine, “Nicole’s definitely interested and is weighing it out.”

Padding downstairs with her 6-week-old daughter, Harlow Winter Kate, in her arms and her boyfriend, Joel Madden, by her side, Nicole Richie apologizes for running behind schedule. “I was joking with Joel today – I think it’s impossible to be on time with a newborn,” says the new mom, barefoot and makeup-free as she settles into the baby-gear-filled living room of their Glendale, Calif., home. Adds Madden: “It takes an hour just to get out of the house. Like, ‘Oops, now she has to eat. Now she has to change!’”
Clearly, Richie, 26, and Madden, who turns 29 on March 11, are adjusting to life in the New Baby Time Zone. The Good Charlotte frontman warms a bottle of breast milk and begins Harlow’s evening feeding – stopping to burp her after every two ounces – while he and Richie reflect on the past year. A onetime Hollywood wild child who underwent rehab at 21, Richie – singer Lionel’s daughter and Paris Hilton’s former cohort on The Simple Life – is much more settled these days. “I didn’t just wake up one morning and say, ‘Okay, today I’m going to change,’” she says. “It was more of a gradual, day-by-day thing.”

They’re not the actual scans, so not the biggest and best quality, but you can totally see the cuteness that is Harlow — awww! Nicole looks beautiful. Her new daughter, Harlow Winter Kate, in her arms and her boyfriend, Joel Madden, by her side, Nicole Richie tells People for its new cover story – on newsstands Friday – that when it comes to the changes she’s experienced in the six weeks since the baby’s arrival, “It’s almost like I don’t even remember what life was like before her. She gives life a whole new meaning and a whole new purpose.”
As for breastfeeding, “There’s just so much I can’t eat because she’s sensitive,” says the new mom, 26. “I eat really bland [food] – chicken noodle soup, vegetables, fish. I had to cut out milk, no tomatoes, no lettuce. You think you have to cut everything out when you’re pregnant, but you really have to cut everything out when you’re breastfeeding.”
And while Richie says, “I don’t know” how long she was in labor, “because I don’t know what time I actually went into labor, but I pushed for 10 minutes,” Madden, 28, said of his daughter: “She came out and she was crying. The doctor goes, ‘Well, it looks like you got a little girl!’ ”

Nicole and Joel went shopping for baby gear in Santa Monica a few days ago. They appeared very happy and in love, and giggled as they carried their shopping bags back to the car. When Rashida Jones heard her good friend Nicole Richie was expecting her first baby, she knew exactly what to get the mom-to-be.
“I’ve known Nicole since she was 3,†Rashida, who was there for Nicole’s Wizard of Oz-themed baby shower in November, tells OK!. “I got her a really cute diaper bag that my friend makes from the line Not Rational, and some maternity stuff.â€
Rashida was thrilled that Nicole and her partner Joel Madden donated their baby shower gifts to young mothers in need through their recently formed Madden-Richie Foundation.
Nicole Richie may be a doting mom these days, but she still has a wild side.
Richie, 26, a former fixture on the L.A. late-night scene, and her beau, Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden, 28, hit hot spot Teddy’s at midnight on February 16 – just five weeks after she gave birth to daughter Harlow.
“Nicole was having a blast,” a witness says in the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now. “She was her old self again – not in a bad way, but she was letting her hair down.”
Nicole has apparently taken to wearing the waist-cinching undergarment Spanx.
“She sometimes wears two pairs at a time,” a pal of Nicole reveals to OK!. And while the new mom is keeping this secret from the public, her fiancé Joel Madden, 28, is all too familiar with them. “He’ll help her find them in her closet if they’re running late,” says the friend. “But he thinks she looks great just the way she is.”
Courteney Cox-Arquette has based a character in her TV show Dirt on Nicole Richie.
The actress, who acts as executive producer on the drama, was inspired to create party-loving Milan Carlton after reading about the Richie’s latest exploits.
The character is booked for driving the wrong way on a freeway in the first episode of the second season, spoofing Richie’s 2006 arrest.
