After 3 years and 2 kids, Nicole and Joel are now officially engaged!

“Yep. i’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same,” Madden Tweeted Monday night, after news of their plans to wed went wide. He also expressed thanks to relatives who did not let word of the engagement slip.

He Tweeted: “P.s. thats why i love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tight lipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody”

Richie said Monday night during a taping of the Late Show with David Letterman that the couple are engaged to be married, a source told People Mag.

Nicole Richie is expanding her fashion empire.

After the launch in 2008 of her successful House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line, Richie is expanding with a Winter Kate apparel line in stores Feb. 15 and shoes for House of Harlow in mid-March.

A fashion line “was always something that was a long-term plan. I’ve always known I wanted to design clothes,” Richie says. “You really have to put all of your time and effort into it. That’s why I didn’t start with clothing, because I didn’t have the time.”

Nicole attended The Art of Elysium’s 3rd Annual Black Tie Charity Gala “Heaven”, held next door to the Beverly Hilton Hotel, yesterday (January 16th). Nicole looked stunning and very sophisticated in her beautiful printed maxi dress, accessorised with a gorgeous patent red clutch. Nicole looked truly fabulous! Nicole and old friend Paris Hilton have reportedly grown close again following the death of their mutual friend Casey Johnson.

In an interview with Life & Style, Hilton confirmed that she spoke to Richie when they both attended a private memorial for Johnson earlier this month.

She commented: “On such a sad day it brought a smile to my face to at least have one dear friend back in my life. I haven’t seen Nicole in a long time, and she’s been so busy with having her two babies.”

It’s always comforting to know that celebrities are doing their part to promote peace, charities and international natural disasters. Yesterday, Nicole tweeted about the unnerving tragedy which took place in the country of Haiti, asking for people to donate money for which will all go to the charities involved in helping the Haiti earthquake and the people of the country to aide them with housing, safety, food and other basic needs.

Nicole and Benji were spotted hooking up at Studio City, Hollywood just yesterday (Monday 11th January). The pair enjoyed lunch and swiftly dotted off home. Probably to spend the rest of the day with their daughter, Harlow who turned 2 yesterday! We hope she had a very lovely day.
