Nicole doesn’t want to be a pregnant bride

It seems that Nicole Richie has postponed walking down the aisle with beau Joel Madden till after the birth of their first child.

A source close to the socialite said that Richie doesn’t want her child to think that they ‘rushed to get marriage because she got pregnant’.

“She said she doesn’t want the baby to one day grow up and think she and Joel rushed to get married just because she got pregnant,” E! Online quoted the source, as saying.

The source said that the couple will marry ‘on their own schedule’.

“She doesn’t want to get married just to say she did it before the baby was born. She wants to do it on their own schedule. And it will be done because they are in love, not because they are up against some deadline,” the source added.

The friend added that the 26-year-old wants time to enjoy planning her wedding.

“It sounded like it could be stressful pulling it all together so quickly. And Nicole said she just started thinking she’d like time to really enjoy planning her wedding,” the friend said.

The source also said that Richie wants to look ‘gorgeous for her wedding photos’.

“Nicole doesn’t want to get married when she’s all big and fat,” the source said.

“She doesn’t want to have to get one of those dresses with a high waist, you know, just to hide her stomach. She wants to look gorgeous for her wedding photos.”

“She’s been eating. A lot. She said she’s always hungry, and she’s never been happier about it.”

As regarding to rumours that the couple have got engaged, the source said that the two considered that they have been engaged back last winter.

“They started wearing matching bands back then. They just didn’t tell anyone about it. But the bands were supposed to be promise rings. So, as far as Richie is concerned, they’ve been planning to get married since before she was pregnant,” the source said.

It is expected that Richie and Madden will exchange vows at Lionel Richie’s estate in Bel-Air, but the singer is still scouting locations.
